Important Dates
  • November 1, 2022 - Open enrollment begins.

  • December 15, 2023 - Enroll by this date for coverage to begin Jan. 1

 

How can I get health coverage outside the yearly Open Enrollment?  
  • Outside Open Enrollment, you can enroll only if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). You qualify if you have a baby, get married, lose job-based coverage, or have certain other life changes.

  • If you do not qualify for a SEP, you can apply as soon as November 1 for coverage starting January 1, 2023.

 

Can I be declined for individual health insurance because of a medical condition?
  • Health insurance companies can't refuse to cover you or charge you more just because you have a pre-existing condition. They also can’t charge women more than men.  

 

Can I get help paying  for my health insurance?
  • Based on your income, family size and the health plan you choose, you may qualify for tax credits and help paying for coverage.  

    • Tax Credits will help eligible people pay for insurance premiums.
